A well balanced life is about constantly hitting the reset button. Not on everything you do in life, but definitely on certain elements that you want to refocus your efforts on.
This Monday allows us to do just that, without fault.
There’s something exciting about the prospect of a new year, just like there’s something exciting about the prospect of a new week. To have both together is a rarity, and you should take advantage as best you can.
I spend most of my time falling in and out of habits, from exercise to writing routines. It’s an easy thing to do.
Instead of beating myself up about it, I scrap what could have been and focus on what can be.
That’s all that matters.
I’m realistic that I can’t do and be everything, but I also know the key to getting ahead as a writer is to focus.
Monday 1st January, then, is the perfect time to hit that reset button. To start your book, blog or short story without letting past failures get in your way.
I guess that all I’m saying is this: you have the perfect opportunity to forget about what you didn’t do last year, and focus on what you can do this year.
Go get it.
